Northside Composites was founded in May 2023 to fill the need for boat repair services local to West Michigan. Since its conception, the goal has always been to bring value to our customers through our passion for repairs and upgrades.
Frank's passion for boats began with sailing scows on Spring Lake, which led to racing collegiately for Massachusetts Maritime Academy and racing across the country on Melges 24s, E scows and other various classes. After a stint working on freighters as an able-bodied seaman then third mate, he ultimately turned to boat building and repair.

Northside brought my ‘04 E-Scow to modern standards and performance. We are competitive against boats 10 years newer and 4 times more expensive. Our racing program’s response to inflationary new boats was to perform a top to bottom refit on a solid older hull to get a championship level boat for a fraction of the price of a new boat. We’re very pleased with the results.
